Team Member Spotlight: Eric Henry, Project Manager

blackstone

A highly motivated and enthusiastic worker, Eric Henry started out as a laborer at East & Westbrook over two decades ago before climbing his way up through the positions of Foreman and Superintendent, eventually procuring his current title as Project Manager this past year.

Eric takes a great amount of pride in each and every project that he’s assigned at E&W, but he cites his first tilt-up project and a multi-floor post-tensioning expansion project as his most interesting. As a family-owned business, Eric attests that the folks at E&W care deeply about every one of their employees, providing them with competitive pay, year round work, and a fun, jovial atmosphere which motivates productivity for himself and his many coworkers. Indeed, much of Eric’s unyielding passion for his job can be attributed to the hospitable and welcoming atmosphere in which he works. While safety and quality are always the number one priorities for Eric and the rest of the team at E&W, he insists that he stays mindful of making the job fun for his crew daily, always finding time for a laugh to keep spirits and morale high until the job gets done.

A lifelong resident of Louisville, Eric began his career at E&W right out of high school in 1994 after hearing its praises from his uncles, who were working there at the time. Impressively, when Eric started at E&W, he and had very little experience with construction work and did not have any management degrees. Eric had opportunity to fast track his career at E&W, which is just one of the reasons why he believes that E&W is a great starting point for aspiring or mid-level construction employment seekers. Above all else, Eric claims that working at E&W has taught him to be a good leader, and he strives to always teach and guide those working under him to the best of his ability so that they too can advance in the company just as he has.

Outside of work, Eric is a family man through and through, and when he’s not relaxing at home with his family during his time off, he can be found golfing with his son and step-children.
