Many kids (and even us adults) look at construction equipment in excitement and awe. There are obviously fun aspects of choosing a career in construction but, there are plenty of difficult facets as well. From early mornings to cold winters—it’s not for all of us. It is for Mr. Thomas White, “He is a person that takes pride in his work and it shows in the effort and precision he puts toward each task” said one of the Project Managers (PM) working with White. “Thomas has such a positive attitude, and it never changes even when the work gets tough—it is always a pleasure to see him show up on any job” said another PM.
White started in construction by hanging drywall with his brother and has quickly expanded his skills as a Carpenter working for East & Westbrook over the past year-plus. Pictured above is a heavy industrial construction job featuring everything from Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings (PEMB) to heavy equipment foundations— just one of the many complex jobs White has leaned into at E&W. “The best trick I have found is to just keep your mind focused on the task at hand” said White when asked about his advancing skills.
