Team Member Spotlight: John Richardson

eandw

There are many roads to success and happiness. Some look at materials for happiness while others look at family. Some look at success and see luck while others see sweat and effort. No matter where he falls, we look at team member John Richardson and see one happy and hardworking guy. From cracking jokes on the jobsite to shaking hands over a job-well-done, John is the type of guy that sustains the effort and has fun doing it.

How did you get into the construction industry?

I finished high school in 1997 and went straight into residential construction, then went on to building prefabricated walls and trusses.

How did you find E&W?

The economy took a turn for the worse, and E&W was the only company that was interested in my help, and I’m so glad they are the ones that called me back.

How long have you been here, how have things been going?

I’ve been working for E&W for over 9 years now and without a doubt, started from the bottom. I came into this company knowing absolutely nothing about the industrial/commercial industry. East & Westbrook has trained me and has been very patient with me every step of the way, from driving a dump truck to being a foreman in the field. Not every job or task is easy or even goes to plan but someone will always have your back and help you through.

Family?

I have a wonderful fiancé of 12 years (yeah, I’m always getting the evil eye from her when we talk about that) and a 15 year old son and almost 11 year old daughter. All three are the reason that I try hard everyday and to come home safe.

Favorite pastime?

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family and working in the garage constructing art or some other weird creation that pops in my head.

Car or Truck?

My favorite car/truck has always been and is to this day, a Jeep Wrangler. I’ve had one for over 18 years now.

Favorite Tool?

I don’t have a favorite tool, but I am especially grateful for the assets I have at hand. From my lead man, foremen, fellow employees and every man and woman in the office. If you don’t know how to tackle a job or where to begin, there is always someone to help you trough.
