Because of our multiple safety awards, customers can feel at ease knowing East & Westbrook has a strong construction safety culture. While we follow the laws to a T, we pride ourselves on going beyond that. Let us share a little bit about that process.
Those who apply are thoroughly pre-screened, which includes extensive background checks. Plus, potential employees must comply with our substance abuse program. Upon hiring, employees are required to complete a comprehensive training program even before they walk on a construction site. This program includes more than 20 hours of safety education and training. After that, safety training is reinforced through mandatory weekly meetings, routine audits and more.
Before we start, our team lays out the scope of the job and determines the safety requirements for each stage of the project. We also hold all-hands safety meetings and daily briefings each morning. As work progresses, we carefully monitor the safety performance of everyone.
Not only is the worksite subjected to ongoing safety inspections, all of our tools and equipment are too. This is an important step because unsafe and defective tools can easily lead to accidents and injuries.
